Description

We live amidst vibrant tree communities that hold rich cultural traditions and teachings. They also play a powerful role in our environment, shaping the weather and the plant communities beneath them. Trees are models of adaptability, resourcefulness, and collaboration. In this interactive 2-day workshop, you will gain skills in plant identification and explore food, medicine, traditional technologies, and social-emotional teachings related to trees. Learn to make tree-inspired recipes including a respiratory steam, forest bathing salts, and tree lip balm. Participants will receive a curriculum that is adaptable for young kids through adults with lesson plans, an identification key, tree matching cards, Salish stories, and recipes. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.
