Description

We live amidst vibrant communities of cedar, fir, hemlock, pine, and spruce. These trees hold rich cultural traditions and teachings. They also play a powerful role in our environment, shaping the weather and the plant communities beneath them. In this interactive workshop, you will gain skills in tree identification and explore tree food, medicine, and traditional technologies. You will receive a printed Tree Communities curriculum packet that is adaptable for young kids through adults with lesson plans, an identification key, tree matching cards, Salish stories, and recipes, as well as forest bathing salts and a tree lip balm. Taught by members of the Tend, Gather and Grow team.

Limit 18 participants.

Registration closes November 11, 2022.

We are offering a sliding scale for this workshop. Pay what you can: $100 or $125. Proceeds will cover supply costs and support GRuB programs.
