Description

June 26-30: All About Seeds

Seeds come in many shapes and sizes, from as small as poppy seeds to as big as coconuts!  This week, we’ll explore all types of seeds--how they grow, are pollinated and dispersed in nature.  We’ll discover what the seeds of common fruits and vegetables look like through a fun game, grow (and eat) our own sprouts and make seed refrigerator magnets.  And of course, we’ll eat seeds in snacks we make such as roasted chickpeas and seedy snack bars.  Parents are invited to spend some time on Friday afternoon sampling the snacks we’ve made and learning all about seeds from your children.

Most activities will be on the farm and in the farmhouse, but we will also take walking/bus field trips to playgrounds.  Camp runs Monday-Friday, June 26-30, 9AM-3PM.  Campers may be dropped off beginning at 8:40 and can be picked up until 3:20 at no extra charge.

Seed to Table camps offer an intimate, nourishing environment for children to engage in gardening, cooking, crafting, and community-building.  Our camps have a maximum of 15 children, and staff-child ratios are 1-5 or better.  While our costs for staffing, food and supplies are higher than at some camps, we do our best to make camp affordable for everyone.  Please choose your level of financial support from the options below.  If all these options are unaffordable for you, please fill out a financial aid form here, and we will contact you about scholarships.
