GRuB is more than just an organization, it is an opportunity.It has the power to change lives, whether it is giving a resource directly to a member of the community or offering vital life skills to disenfranchised youth. For me, as a Cultivating Youth Crew Alumni, it was a compass for a very lost young woman who was skeptical that the world had anything to offer her. One thing that I love about GRuB is that we are not afraid to get real on touchy subjects, which considering the ugliness that recent events have brought to light, it is very important that we have those discussions. We constantly challenge ourselves to push those uncomfortable boundaries while simultaneously reinforcing our guidelines for the safety of everyone involved. I have never worked for or been a part of an organization that really values the people it serves and that serve it. I have never worked for a place that takes it so heavily to heart when even the smallest goal or intention slips through the cracks. I have never witnessed an organization include every single member of the organization as well as extending invitations to the community it serves to be a part of their strategic planning to create a future that includes them and is influenced by them. I invest myself in GRuB out of gratitude, to give back the support that I received all those years ago. I invest myself in GRuB so that I may invest in future program participants and recipients. Finally I invest myself in GRuB because I believe in its future and importance and I hope that you feel inspired to invest in us too.
